Drawing its origin from Morroco, the plant is an annual plant which grows in the Mediterranean and in the Middle East. Chemically and aromatically the oil is different from German and Roman Chamomile yet this oil is time and again confused with Anthemis nobilis/English, Roman chamomile and Matricaria recutita/Blue or German chamomile.

The oil which is obtained after steam distillation from the Aerial parts of the plant serves the purpose of a skin conditioner and muscle relaxant. The oil cannot be used as substitute for Chamomile Roman as it belongs to a different plant family.

 

Used primarily for therapeutic purpose, Chamomile Maroc oil has excellent decongestant and Bactericidal effects. Chamomile Moroccan oil which is pale to brownish yellow in color has a sweet, persistent balsamic fragrance.

Used primarily for aromatherapy and in perfume blends, the chamomile maroc oil is not derived from a true chamomile plant. Though this plant is indistinctly related to German and Roman Chamomile botanically, yet there is no physical resemblance.
