Frankincense essential oil is extracted from the gum resin of Boswellia Thurifera tree belonging to the Burseraceae family. Serving both therapeutic as well as medicinal purposes, the oil has a pleasant spicy, woody and a bit camphoric smell.

 

The oil extracted from the gum resin of the tree belonging to Boswella Thurifera species, is pale yellow green in color and traces its origin to the Middle East. The tree has plentiful of pinnacle leaves along with white and pink flowers. The oil which has a pain relieving as well as a rejuvenating property is extracted by a process of steam distillation. 

Also known as Olibanum, Frankincense oil has a chemical composition of incensyl acetate, a-pinene, octyl acetate, bornyl acetate, actanol, linalool and incensole. With abundance of benefits, Frankincense oil has become the most sought after essential oils.
